I just wanted to write in and tell how impressed I am with your workmanship and service. I could not be more happy with the rebuild of the generator on my father's Austin Healey. It looked great, I installed it, started it, and checked the output. It puts out 14.5 volts, that is as close to perfect charging voltage as I have seen, and I installed car audio professionally for over 5 years. Thanks again for the excellent service and product, unfortunately, I doubt I will need your services again as I don't see a reason for this rebuild to go bad. Keep up the excellent work.

Mike, I recieved my remanufactured alternator last Thursday ( one day earlier than expected) after reinstalling it and replacing the voltage regulator EVERYTHING seems to be working GREAT. Well the alternator you guys rebuilt just arrived, as promised. I have to say, it is obvious just looking at it that you and your folks take pride in your work. I doubt it looked this good coming out of the factory ( and I know since my Grandfather worked for BMC building Triumphs). I will sing your praises to fellow British car owners; I don't know why anyone would retrofit a GM alternator for twice as much when they could get an outstanding, better-than-new rebuild from Star Auto-Electric!
I promise to send you photos of my 1967 E-Type from my road trip with my 15 year-old daughter. I am sure your work will do a lot better than my daughter in summer heat, especially in a 40 year-old car without a/c. Afterthought: You guys even restored the "Negative Ground" tag which was formely painted over. Wow!

Dear Mike,
Today I decided to convert my 1965 Jaguar S type from Positive to Negative ground. I was following the instructions found in a article in a Jaguar car magazine. I followed every step and when I got to the Generator Polarizing I got stuck. The article says to remove the wire from the "F" terminal at the generator, and then short it with the "B" terminal. No such luck, what I thought would be the simplest procedure turned out to be the hardest if not impossible, since I was getting no sparks at all when shorting both terminals.
I went to my computer and started searching for "polarizing generator"; I found your instructions and follow them to the letter, noticing that you are very clear about not touching the "F" terminal, when the article says to short it.
The first attempt following your instructions to do it only at the Regulator, made the generator smoke, so I shut the whole thing down and then noticed that I had left the "F" wire disconnected at the generator, so obviosly the generator had not recieved the conversion short from the regulator. The second time I must have gotten it right because the generator did not smoke and everything is acting normal, including the ammeter.
So... this is to say that you have it correct.
